Seasonal Floral Decorations for the Gosekku
Small and lovely artificial flowers that accompany seasonal dolls, such as Hina and May dolls.
Through an arduous process of preparation and an accumulation of intricate handiwork, each material is woven together into a masterpiece. These exquisite pieces are brought to life only through the hands of our master artisans. Because we honor the natural character of our materials, the shape of the branches, the form of the pot, and the subtle hues of the colors vary with every creation. Therefore, each bonsai miniature is truly a one-of-a-kind treasure, existing nowhere else in the world.
Hako no Matsu is an original Edo doll bonsai that places the Takasago pine at its heart. When you open the paulownia box, a finely crafted pine tree born from the skil of master artisans emerges, revealing a world unique to the through generations tradition of doll flower-making.
The three variations—Tokiwa Matsu(Evergreen Pine), Yuki Matsu (Snow Pine), and Sakura Matsu (Cherry Blossom Pine)—each tell a unique story and evoke a different atmosphere.
Hako no Matsu is crafted with the hope of bringing tranquility and the beauty of Japanese tradition into daily life, serving as a modern Takasago doll and a symbol of good fortune.
The bonsai sways, beginning its gentle dance. Its slow, rhythmic movement brings a sense of deep tranquility. Born from the same delicate artistry used to adorn traditional Hina dolls, this mobile is a fusion of heritage and air. Pine branches float at the ends of elegant curves, while wisteria sways with a graceful "hannari" charm. Cherry blossoms exude elegance, and camellias bloom with vivid brilliance. Each flower seems to perform a soft, weightless dance in mid-air. This is the evolution of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Exquisite floral artistry meets the warmth of walnut wood. Each teardrop-shaped chopstick rest is carved and polished to a smooth finish by a master woodworker. Nestled within is a delicate blossom, handcrafted with breathtaking precision. From the unique size and hue of every petal to the intricate veins of the leaves and the natural sprawl of the branches—no detail is overlooked. Choose a bloom to match the season, the occasion, or your mood. It is a piece that quite literally "adds a flower" to your dining experience.

—A Century of Heritage: The Evolution of Traditional Craftsmanship—
Founded 100 years ago, 3rd generation unparalleled artist
In 1922 (Taisho 11), we were founded as an independent workshop in Asakusa. As the third-generation successor, I continue to produce artificial flowers for Japanese dolls, temples, shrines, and sacred rituals. Currently, we primarily manufacture cherry and citrus trees, red and white plum blossoms, and irises for Hina doll displays. Our concept is to work with meticulous care, striving to be "subtle, yet elevating the atmosphere," as we promote Japanese traditional craftsmanship and the essence of "Wa" to both domestic and international audiences. We sincerely look forward to connecting with you.

■ To retailers and manufacturers looking for seasonal festival (Sekku) products
Since our founding in 1922 (Taisho 11), we have been dedicated solely to the craft of artificial flower production. We manufacture artificial flowers for New Year's, March (Hina Matsuri), May (Boys' Day), and various traditional Japanese dolls, including Sakura-Tachibana, red and white plum blossoms, handheld branches, standing trees, and kanzashi hairpins. As a rule, we operate on a made-to-order basis, beginning production only after receiving an order. Furthermore, almost all processes are performed by hand by our in-house staff and local artisans. We welcome consultations from those planning original products or professionals who are particular about their accessories.
■ For those looking to express seasonality or create a Japanese atmosphere...
In addition to festival goods, we also produce seasonal decorations such as miniature bonsai (Kobachi) and Japanese floral wall hangings. These are ideal as souvenirs for overseas, gifts for international friends, or as decorations for Japanese-style rooms, alcoves (tokonoma), and entranceways. They are also perfect for seasonal styling in Japanese-style inns (Ryokan) or shops that feature a "wa" (Japanese) theme. If you have a specific space in mind or a proposal, please let us know. The pine needles in our miniature bonsai are made from the same dyed and processed materials as doll hair. They have a gentle texture that offers a sense of comfort.
■ If you have damaged your Hina doll's cherry blossoms or wish to replace old ones...
If you are unable to find replacements at department stores or specialty shops, please consult with us. We also accept requests for repairs and remakes whenever possible. Our production starts with the cutting and dyeing of white fabric, and is a fully handcrafted, made-to-order process. Please note that we may be very busy during certain seasons. We would appreciate it if you could contact us well in advance. For more details, please get in touch via the inquiry form.
